Dawn Millings-Obidiebube is the Founder and President of Brown Girl Economics, Inc. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Florida Memorial University and her Master's in Business Administration(MBA) from St. Thomas University.
She has a 30 plus year career in Insurance and Risk Management. Her experience includes working for several major Insurance Companies, Third Party Administrators (TPA's), A Fortune 300 Corporation, Municipalities and owning her own businesses. She's currently employed at Miami Dade County in the Internal Services Department, Budget and Finance Division.
She's a very active community advocate and has affiliations with The United Way of Miami, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the W.I.S.H. Foundation.
Zarnette Diane McQueen
Vice President
Zarnette Diane McQueen is a proud graduate of Miami Northwestern Senior High School after which she attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU).
Zarnette's professional career includes 25 years with Miami Dade County's Early Head Start/Head Start programs and then transitioned to The Florida Department of Corrections.
Zarnette has spent many years assisting single mothers in our community to secure local and federal assistance to support their individual success. She has been a mentor to many of the youth in our community, guiding them on a path to further their education and career accomplishments.
Zarnette is a staple of Miami's black social scene and a dynamic professional networker. She's currently an active member of the awesome and nationally known 305 Cigar Divaz and a founding member of Brown Girl Economics Inc.
Carlota Arthur
Secretary
Carlota received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Spanish in 1987 from FISK University. She received her Masters' in Elementary Education in 1993 from Nova Southeastern University. She became certified in Life Coaching in 2013 and is presently working on her doctorate in Education with a concentration in Special Education from Northcentral
Carlota founded NieCat Foundation of Excellence Inc. is a 501©(3) in October 2020. NieCat exists to fulfill the need for young adults with special needs to have a place to go once they age out of the public and the private school system. NieCat gives exceptional young adults a haven to manifest a sustainable life for themselves.
Carlota will use her skills as a Life Coach to work with the students individually and collectively to increase their self-esteem and self-concept and visualize a world where they control their lives and contribute to the community.
Carlota is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and she is a founding member of Brown Girl Economics.
LaShondra William

LaShondra Williams is a Miami Florida native and a graduate of North Miami Beach Senior High School.
As a State Board certified Pharmacy Services Technician and Patient Assistance Specialist, LaShondra
earned credentials throughout her 20 plus years with Jackson Health Systems, her current employer.
LaShondra is one of three owners of the nationally known 305 Cigar Divaz Inc. Est. 2014.
She currently serves as President of this renown organization. She is a seasoned Cigar industry crowd pleaser and an event planner. Community service includes and is not limited to the following:
*Back to school book bag drives.
*Holiday gift boxes from the pantry.
*Holiday toy drives.
*Brown paper bag feeding the homeless.
*Clothing for Battered women in shelters.
Being trusted to be Treasurer for Brown Girl Economics plays a major role. Financial control, funding, fundraising, sales, banking, keeping record, and financial reporting can be challenging; however, my commitment is top tier."

Marilyn E. Walker

Marilyn E. Walker received her Bachelor's of Arts in Music Education from The University of Miami with a Minor in Business Administration. Her Master's of Science Degree is from Nova Southeastern University.
Marilyn is a former Music Educator with 18 years with the MDCPS. She has worked as a Job Developer with South Florida Workforce (Now Career Source South Florida), And now is the owner of "Basketized Boutique LLC". Which has been in existence since 2007. Our motto is- "We create the gift baskets of Life." Wine & Cheese baskets are just one of our specialties. We are Miami-Dade County Small Business Certified - (SBE-G&S) And (DBE).
Marilyn is active in a variety of community services, such a member of the National Gospel Recording Artist- "Melvin Dawson & The Genesis Ensemble." Board member of Ambitious Motivated Brothers (A.M.B.Outreach). Member of DIGNITY POWER of Florida. Ordained Elder/Minister/Intercessor/Chaplain- MAJESTIC MINISTRY
Dr. Trellany L. McMath

Dr. Trellany L. McMath received her Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communications from the University of South Florida and Master's, Degree in Teaching & Learning, Specialist Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, Management and Administration, and her Doctoral Degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
She has over 30 years experience in public service and education. Her experience includes working with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Department of Children & Families and the State Attorney's Office. She currently works as a Transformational Coach for MDCPS.
She is very active with her sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She is also a certified life coach and mentors women of color pursuing Doctoral degrees.
She presently owns TrellisFleurs, a preserved flower business and a founding member of Brown Girl Economics
Dionne M. Perry
2nd Member-At-Large
Dionne M. Perry received her general studies at Miami Edison Senior High School.
Her career span 31 years working in Pharmaceutical Purchasing for a well-known pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Germany, with several plants in the United States. She is also a registered and certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida.
Dionne serves her community by sponsoring and assisting with community Holiday food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She works hard securing toys for children in foster care and she participates in backpack drives for school age children.
As a "Brown Girl Economic" Board member, her mission is not only to spread the word about black owned businesses, but to work for the longevity and profitability of all Black Owned Businesses in our community.
She is one of the three owners of the 305 Cigar Divaz, Inc.
